Our Charter
ARAD is a trade association for the airspace and rooftop development sector.
Established in 2020 to act as a unified voice for developers and home builders involved in the development of airspace, the Association of Rooftop & Airspace Development (ARAD) is an independent, non-profit organisation, established to promote good practice and lobbying for its member’s interests and endeavours to deliver homes at both national and local level.

The principle aims of ARAD are:
To promote quality of service through setting standards and a Code of Conduct for our members
To represent the aims and interest of stakeholders involved in airspace development with our commitment to empowering our members with representation at government at national and local level
To increase awareness and understanding of the potential of airspace development as a viable solution to delivering homes
To ensure that the sector is better understood and accepted by all stakeholders
To connect airspace developers and professionals within the sector, by providing a forum to share experiences, challenges and good practice.
Established by experienced airspace developers, ARAD now occupies a key position within the airspace sector having been directly involved with the 2020 Permitted Development for Upwards Extensions.
